How to Be Cool: Make Social Blunders a Thing of the Past! by Will Smith

How to Be Cool: Make Social Blunders a Thing of the Past! by Will Smith, that is Will Smith the British Comedian, not Will Smith the cool American actor. To me this is a very funny book, but not everyone will find it funny. Firstly, American might not find it funny, if they don’t know about British current affairs, as some of the gags relate to British current celebrities. Secondly, Americans might not find it funny if they don’t understand the British ironic and understated comedy forms. Thirdly, no one will find it funny if what they were hoping for was a book to teach them how to be truly cool.

Also, the book will date, actually it already has, as for instance it makes some jokes based around Tony Blair (who is he? OK I remember he was 2 Prime Ministers ago). Eventually it will be as dated as a Victorian book on etiquette. So there is a good reason to buy the book and then store it in the attic for 100 years, then it might be worth some money!

That said, I really enjoy the book. It was fun to dip in and out of and there are some great one liners.
