The Book Thief

The Book Thief is, frankly, a very good book. This book is narrated by death! An interesting and dark perspective, but death narrates lightly and with humour. Some times a fictional story helps us relate to what real life was like in certain situations. This story is centred on Nazi Germany during the war, and traces the adolescence of a Liesel as she learns about life and the power of words. The writing is skillful and entertaining and at times deep and occasionally tear jerking. For a different read – I would recommend it!
