The biggest mistake novice website owners make is going with big name, cheap shared hosts, GoDaddy, BlueHost, 123-reg, IONOS and similar. They have great cheap deals which are very tempting for new businesses.
Most of these brands are owned by Hosting Group Europe and Endurance International Group. Why are these brands not ideal, just search the reviews and you will find the problem, oversold servers and poor support.
So then you go and ask for advice on the internet and get inundated with solutions some good, some bad and many pointing you to a VPS and all of a sudden the costs seem to be spiralling.
So do you give up and go with a big name, or payout for a managedVPS solution?
No there are plenty of decent shared hosts. The trouble is they tend to be the smaller ones that provide great support and great performance.
I looked long and hard for good UK based host and specifically one that uses LightSpeed. Why LightSpeed? LightSpeed is just so much faster as a webserver, simple as that. And for a WordPress site there is the excellent and free LightSpeed Cache plugin that knocks the socks off other caching ( free or paid) when used on a LightSpeed Server.
And I found one, then tested it to death. I tested performance, load handling and also support response. They made it easy for me to test risk free as they offer the first month for just £1.
What the name of this host – well you probably have seen some adverts on this page anyway. Why not promote something that works for you? See for yourself at https://guru.co.uk
